Herbal Medicine is commonly used with Acupuncture to treat internal medical disorders. I was trained extensively in herb/drug interactions and I know what should be included and excluded, based on your diagnosis and current medication list. I offer many single herbs and formulations of these herbs in pill and granular form to restore balance and health to the body.
Acupressure & Massage
Gentle stimulation of specific points along the 12 main channels of the body and specific muscle origins and insertions. I have been trained in circulatory, shiatsu, tui na, reflexology, pediatric, motor point, and sport specific cross fiber massage. These manual therapies, in conjunction with acupuncture, restore balance in the body and relieve muscular tension and pain.
The use of PENS or a percutaneous electric nerve stimulation device. Electrodes are connected to the exposed needle shaft. This stimulus surpasses skin resistance delivering electrical stimuli at precise levels in close proximity to the site of pain.
Artemisia Vulgaris or Mugwort is applied topically and warmed over the affected area or acupuncture point to facilitate healing. Moxibustion works as an analgesic by increasing blood flow and reducing inflammatory cells to relieve pain. It has been proven to regulate the activity of the body's immune system cells, protecting the body from viruses and bacterial infections. This form of treatment is also commonly used in fertility and menstrual disorders as it stimulates blood flow in the pelvic area and uterus.
Aromatherapy is the scientific application of essential oils. They are applied via inhalation through a diffuser or by direct absorption through the skin. An essential oil molecule stimulates the limbic system, where serotonin and endorphins are released. Serotonin counteracts anxiety and endorphins reduce pain and inflammation.
The application of negative pressure devices onto specific areas of the body to relieve upper respiratory congestion and reduce muscle tension.
Nutrition & Supplements
Food is the medicine taken in by our bodies every day. Nutritional guidance and supplementation, when necessary, help guide the patient in choosing the correct foods depending on their symptoms or state of disease. I combine both eastern and western nutrition approaches to help alleviate symptoms and improve overall health. These approaches involve everything from simple kitchen sink remedies to gluten-free or dairy-free diets.
Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture
Acupuncture facial rejuvenation is a safe and non-surgical procedure in which fine needles are placed at various pressure points on the face and body. These points stimulate energy to improve circulation in the face and body, decrease fine lines, firm tissues, improve facial muscle tone, and decrease bags under eyes. Years of aging can be erased in as little as 10-15 treatments. Sessions are recommended once a week in conjunction with herbal and nutritional supplements.
